<p>Cephalosporins of formula:- (where R is H, alkyl; X is O, S or the group NR2 where R2 is H, alkyl or a bond joined to R1 to form an alkylene chain; Y is acetoxy or the group -SR3 where R3 2s an N-heterocyclic ring) and their pharmaceutically acceptable salts of (I), are broadspectrum antibiotics, effective against organisms at high dilutions, especially gram negative organisms, e.g. E. coli, Klebs. pneumoniae, Proteus, vulgaris, Pr.morganii.</p> |
