摘要 PURPOSE:To suppress the thickness of the oxide film formed on the joint surface of a vessel to a specific thickness or below and to improve the beauty of the joint and the working and adhering characteristic of the coated film subjected to correction by forming the electric resistance-welded joint which retains the surface luster and color intrinsic to a metallic blank material. CONSTITUTION:A can body beta which is cylindrically bent and laps and holds a side seam alpha is wound on a quide rod 4 and is fed in an arrow direction. Upper and lower electrode rollers 3, 6 are conducted with electricity via the side seam alpha when said body passes between the rollers 3 and 6, by which high-temp. resistance heat is generated and the lap surfaces are softened and press-welded. The beginning end of the side seam alpha begins to intrude into an inert gaseous atmosphere and the can body is passed through the prescribed section along a feed line L after passage between the rollers 3, 6 while the thickness of the oxide film formed thereon is suppressed to at least <=400Angstrom by the inert gas blown to the inside and outside surfaces of the side seam alpha from upper and lower blow- off nozzle 7, 8 groups. The body is thereafter delivered to a stage for correcting the coated film of the side seam alpha.
