<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate an idle time at a leader tape section in the operation of relays by using a tape end detection signal obtained through the detection of a leader tape section and changing over the driving state of each deck so as to apply relay reproduction or relay recording. CONSTITUTION:Leader tape detection sections 22, 24 and quick circuits 23, 25 constitute a tape end detection circuit. The leader tape detection sections 22, 24 employ light emitting element and photodetecting elements 26, 27 and the difference in the reflectance ratio is used to detect a transparent leader tape T2 at the end of a magnetic tape T1. Thus, the relay reproduction or relay sound recording is controlled by changing over the drive state of each deck frm one deck to the other deck in response to a tape end detection signal fed from the tape end detection circuits 22, 24.</p> |
