PURPOSE:A carbon fiber porous structure having crystallizability close to that of graphite, and a large effective area, obtained by covering carbon fibers and connecting them with a highly graphitized carbon layer having a specific Raman intensity ratio, specifying bulk density of it. CONSTITUTION:Carbon fibers are woven to give a carbon fiber structure having 0.07g/cm<3=rho<=1.5g/cm<3> bulk density. A hydrocarbon monomer such as benzene, etc. is thermally decomposed by CVD method so that a highly graphitized carbon layer having a Raman intensity ratio of Raman intensity at 1,580cm<-1> to Raman intensity at 1,360cm<-1> in Raman spectrum of <=1/10 is precipitated on the surface of the porous carbon fiber structure, and the carbon fibers are covered and connected. consequently, a material promising as an electrode agent for secondary battery is obtained. |
