PURPOSE:To obtain easily the titled substance useful as a surface active agent having resistance to hard water, by reacting a compound containing an succinic anhydride group in the molecule with a beta-aminoethanesulfonate or a beta-aminoethyl sulfate in water or in aqueous medium. CONSTITUTION:A compound (A) containing a succinic anhydride in the molecule is reacted with a compound shown by the formula (R is H, or alkyl; Y is -CH2CH2-, or -CH2CH2O-; M is cation except H<+>) in water or in an aqueous solvent at 70-100 deg.C, to give the desired substance. A compound obtained by subjecting maleic anhydride to Diels-Alder addition or ene addition reaction with a compound having a double bond in the molecule, or a copolymer of an alpha-olefin, a vinyl compound, and maleic anhydride, or a polymer of maleic anhydride, etc. is used as the compound A. EFFECT:An amino group can be acylated without passing through an acid chloride. |
