PURPOSE:To contrive to hold resistances to abrasion and seizing as well as a high strength by a method wherein the outer layer of the composite cylinder liner is formed by the material of graphite steel consisting of specified constituents while the inner layer thereof is formed by the material of special cast iron consisting of specified constituents and both of them are connected by fusion welding. CONSTITUTION:The outer layer (a) of the composite cylinder liner is formed by the material of graphite steel constituted principally of spherical graphites and a base consisting in wt% of C; 1.0-2.0%, Si; 0.6-3.0%, Mn; 0.2-1.0%, P; 0.1% or less, S; 0.1% or less, balance; Fe and normal impurities. On the other hand, the inner layer (b) thereof is made of cast iron consisting in wt% of C; 2.5-4.0%, Si; 0.8-2.5%, Mn; 0.3-1.5%, P; 0.05-1.5%, S; 0.3% or less, balance; Fe and normal impurities. Both of the layers (a), (b) are integrated by fusion welding by means of centrifugal casting in which the material of inner layer is cast with a proper timing after the outer layer is cast in. |
