1499615 Bearings KARL SCHMIDT GmbH 13 July 1976 [21 Aug 1975] 28980/76 Heading F2A A blank 1 for forming into one half of a thrust bearing collar is stamped or punched from a band or strip of sliding contact bearing material and has two portions 3 joined by a projecting portion 4 which is substantially V-shaped. The blank is such that it may be formed into the half collar without deformation of the bearing surfaces, and each side of the blank has an identical contour so that the blanks may be stamped from the strip without waste of material. On forming into the half collar, the blank is bent along the V-shaped projection so that the two portions abut, and the projecting portion is bent clear of the bearing surface. |
