PURPOSE:To greatly save labor in a marking operation, by a method wherein a plurality of materials to be marked can be loaded and unloaded in the condition of being mounted on a carrier jig, and are marked in that condition. CONSTITUTION:A group 1 of magazines containing a multiplicity of the carrier jigs 3 on each of which a plurality of packages 2 for semiconductor articles as the materials to be marked are arranged are fed to a loading part 4 by one magazine at a time. Thereafter, the carrier jigs 3 are automatically supplied to a feeding part 5 from the magazine 1a fed to the loading part 4, and are intermittently moved by, for example, a hook-shaped pawl. When the carrier jig 3 is stopped at a marking position, marks such as the kind of article and a company name are printed at a predetermined position of the package 2. After all of the packages on the carrier jig are marked, they are contained into the magazine 8a located at an unloading part 7 together with the jig. |
