<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a carpet having improved cushioning properties, by piling a latex composition on the back of a carpet which is being transported, laminating them by contact bonding, and drying the transferred backing layer under heating, while gelatinizing the latex composition under heating. CONSTITUTION:The latex composition 18 such as natural rubber latex is applied and laminated to a carpet placing face of the conveyor 11 which consists of a release sheet and places and transports the carpet 10. As the laminated layer 19 of the composition is gelatinized under heating by the heat zone 16, the laminated layer is pressed and piled by the press rolls 17. When the gelatinization is approximately finished and the backing layer 20 is formed, the carpet is released from the conveyor 11, and the backing layer 20 transferred to the carpet 20 is heated and dried by the chamber 21, to give the carpet backed with a porous material with uniform thickness, free from unevenness.</p> |
