From each of the magazines leads a separate receipt feed to a common path forward to a printer. The separate receipt feed paths each have a rear edge detector strip feed rollers, and a front edge detector. The rear detector stops continuous forward feed when the corresp. strip rear edge is detected, and the front detector stops re-feed of the corresp. strip when the front edge of the latter is detected. The front detector also defines a starting position for the strip when it is in a reserve status. The strip is fed forward after stopped re-feed of the other used strip. When the appts. is serviced, the strip currently being used is fed to its starting position, so that both strips are thus positioned. After service, one strip is fed forward for printing and issue of a control receipt, and then is reverted to its starting position. The same operation is then conducted on the second strip.
