<p>NEW MATERIAL:To diol modified with lactone shown by the formula I (R is H, or methyl; m and n are positive integer of 1-2; Y is bifunctional residue obtained by removing ester bond from 6-8C saturated aliphatic lactone ring; p and q are positive integer decided depending upon an amount of saturated aliphatic lactone to be reacted). USE:Having improved heat resistance, useful as an improver for modifying a resin such as polyester, etc. PREPARATION:1mol adduct of bis (4-hydroxyphenyl) sulfone with alkylene oxide shown by the formula II is reacted with >=2mol 6-8C saturated aliphatic lactone in a nitrogen atmosphere at 130-250 deg.C with stirring, to give a compound shown by the formula I . The use of sulfuric acid, etc. as a catalyst accelerates the reaction rate, and easily provides the desired compound.</p> |
