PURPOSE:To inhibiting the pitting corrosion of a member of an apparatus composed of Al and stainless steel by adding a prescribed amount of cyclodextrin to an aqueous soln. which contains Cl ions and is in contact with the member so as to reduce the amount of the Cl ions. CONSTITUTION:Cyclodextrin is added to a process fluid which contains Cl ions and is in contact with a member of an apparatus composed of Al or an Al alloy and stainless steel by 0.0002-1mol per 1mol Cl ion. A clathrate compound consisting of cyclodextrin and Cl ions is formed to reduce the amount of the Cl ions in the aqueous soln. Thus, the pitting corrosion of the member is prevented. |
