PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive, highly accurate, highly reliable radiation thermometer, by providing a detector, which receives radiation energy from an object to be measured and generates output signals corresponding to a plurality of wavelengths, and providing a means, which computes the temperature of the object to be measured based on the wavelength where the output signal becomes a specified value. CONSTITUTION:Radiation energy from an object to be measured 1 is inputted to each element of an image sensor 4. Output signals corresponding to incident wavelengths lambda1,...lambdan are generated. The signals are sequentially read based on signals from a pulse signal generator 7. A counter 6 counts the results in synchronization with said signals. A comparator 5 sequentially compares the output of the sensor 4 with a specified value. When the output agrees with the specified value Vs, the counter 6 is stopped. The counted value N at that time is outputted to a memory 8. The memory 8 outputs a temperature T when the output with regard to the wavelength corresponding to the value N becomes the value Vs. Therefore an operating device is simple and the digital signals can be directly obtained. Thus an A-D converter can be omitted. |
