PURPOSE:To selectively drive a display section by forming a touch switch section made of flexible transparent conductive film on the display screen of a fluorescent character display tube and extracting a signal following the touching operation as the voltage output. CONSTITUTION:A number of phosphor display sections 2a to 2f are formed on a substrate 1 in compliance with a pattern with which a switching function is to be displayed and a flat type fluorescent character display tube is formed by sealing them in an enclosure device 7 consisting of a spacer 5 and display screen glass 6 together with a control grid 3 and a linear cathode 4. In addition, a touch switch section 12 is formed by providing a fixed electrode such as SnO2 on the display screen glass 6 in compliance with the display sections 2a to 2f and bonding flexible transparent conductive film 11 thereon through an insulating spacer 9. As a result, since the fixed electrode and the film 11 are put in contact with each other by the operation of each switch section 12, the respective display sections 2a to 2f can selectively be operated by the contact signal and the phosphor display device can be simplified. |
