PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp image very excellent in triboelectricity of a toner by subjecting the surface of a member for triboelectrifying the toner to blast treatment with a substance chargeable opposite in polarity to the toner. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 1 including a photoconductive layer serves as an electrostatic latent image bearing body. A photosensitizing charging device 2 is generally known, and a light image projector 3 projects a light image or a light beam modulated with an image signal, or the like to form an electrostatic image on the drum 1. A developing device 4 has a developing carrying member 4a, and an electrostatic image is visualized with toner particles on the drum 1 by using this member 4a. A transfer device 5 transfers said toner image to a transfer material 6. The toner image may sometimes be charged by corona discharge or the like before transfer in advance in order to enhance transfer performance. Background fog can be prevented and a superior image can be obtained by supporting the toner by magnetic attraction or opposing it to the electrostatic image without bringing it into contact with the image. |
