发明名称 THIN FILM MAGNETIC HEAD
摘要 PURPOSE:To provide excellent recording capacity and to enable recording and reproduction at a high recording density by using a material of which the saturation magnetization is larger with the films nearer the non-magnetic layer to form plural soft magnetic films constituting magnetic poles. CONSTITUTION:When large current is passed to conductors 15 in the stage of recording, magnetic layers 1 and 2 can generate large recording magnetic fields without inducing magnetic saturation as the saturation magnetization of inner magnetic films 10 and 11 is large. The saturation magnetization of the inner films 10 and 11 is larger than the saturation magnetization of outer magnetic films 12 and 13 and therefore the recording magnetic field distribution on the surface facing a medium has the sharp shape in which the magnetic fields concentrate at the films 10 and 11. A shape effect can be decreased as compared with a single-layered film head with respect to the recording magnetic field at a gap 3. Since the magnetic field distribution of the head is sharp even in the stage of reprodution, a high resolving power is obtd. The high reproduced output is obtd. at a short recording density in which the recording bit length is shorter than the thickness of the layers 1 and 2 owing to a decrease in the shape effect.
