PURPOSE:To obtain a printing plate having improved printing characteristics by processing a photosensitive lithographic printing plate with a fixer and washing- out water each contg. hydrolase in fixing and washing-out stages. CONSTITUTION:A nonsilver photosensitive layer 20 for forming a water insoluble lipophilic image and a gelatin-silver halide emulsion layer 30 are laminated on a support 10 having a hydrophilic surface to obtain a photosensitive lithographic printing plate. This printing plate is imagewise exposed to form a latent image on silver halide in the layer 30. The silver halide is developed in the 1st developing stage 1, and the unexposed silver halide is removed by fixing with a fixer contg. 0.001-10wt% hydrolase in a fixing stage 2. The layer 20 is then exposed 3 to an ultraviolet light source 3A, washed out 4 with water contg. 0.0001- 10wt% hydrolase, developed in the 2nd developing stage 5, gummed 6, and dried 7. Thus, the emulsion layer can be removed without using a mechanical means such as a brush. |
