PURPOSE:To ensure the performance of a mixer by operating an apparatus in the reverse direction intermittently for a short time during the operation, and scraping off the deposits of kneaded materials on blades and revolving spindles before solidified by interaction of one blade with the other blade. CONSTITUTION:The two spindles 1 and 11 equipped with blades 8 and 18 in the form of a screw are provided in parallel and freely rotatable in a through so that the end of one blade may be brought almost into contact with the other spindle. A gear 5 is fitted to the end of one spindle freely rotatably. A fitting mechanism consisting of a spacer 4, a cam 6, and a stopper 7 is provided to fit the gear 5 to the spindle 1 at a specified angle of rotation in both directions, and the gear 5 is interlocked with a gear 15 fixed at the end of the other spindle. The apparatus is stopped during the operation, and one revolving spindle is turned in the reverse direction by a specified angle of rotation in reference to the other revolving spindle. Accordingly the phase of one blade is moved relatively backward intermittently, and self-cleaning is carried out. The deposition and solidification of the kneaded material is prevented in this way, and the maintenance of performance of the conveying mixer is secured. |
