摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the superior ignition performance over the whole revolution- number range by installing a plurality of spark plugs onto the leading side with respect to a rotor housing and installing a spark plug onto the trailing side and controlling the ignition of the spark plugs according to the engine operation state. CONSTITUTION:The spark plugs 13a and 13b of the first ignition apparatus 10 are installed onto the leading side with respect to the shorter axis 2a of a casing 2, and the spark plug 43 of the second ignition apparatus 40 is installed onto the trailing side. Each ignition apparatus 10, 40 is constituted of an ignition coil 11, 41, contact 14, 44 operated by an actuator 16, 45, selector valve 18, 47 for controlling an actuator 16, 45, a driving circuit 18, 48 for controlling the selector valve 18, 47, etc. In low-speed and low-load operation, only the spark plugs 13a and 13b are ignited simultaneously, and in the medium-speed and medium-load operation, all the spark plugs 13a, 13b, and 43 are ignited simultaneously, and in high-speed revolution, the spark plug 43 is normally ignited, and the spark plugs 13a and 13b are ignited alternately.
