The present addition relates to improvements made to the protection device covering transmission shafts with a universal joint, especially telescopic, characterised in that it has a ring 1 for reinforcing the cone 2 of the said protection device having the shape of an annulus 3a-3b which is substantially frustoconical in its assembly, which fits with the necessary functional clearance into the most internal part 2a-2b of the said protection cone 2, and in that a plurality of fixing studs are made on the external surface of this reinforcement ring 1 in correspondence with its external edge.
