PURPOSE:To improve the working efficiency by traveling a wire electrode provided with a guide section in the longitudinal direction along a supporting member having desired shape while engaging with the guide section. CONSTITUTION:A metal work 28 is worked through electric discharge machining. A work head 4 is fixed with a guide supporting member 15 and a wire guide 19 movable in three directions crossing perpendicularly by means of feeding systems 6, 30, 32. The wire electrode 10 is formed with a projection 10a engaged with a guide groove 19a of the wire guide 19. When performing electric discharge machining while traveling the wire electrode 10 by means of a feed reel 11 and a winding reel 12, the working efficiency is improved. |
