PURPOSE:To prevent buckling deformation of a work in bending at small radius as well by providing an auxiliary belt consisting of a thin sheet to the tip of a flexible bending die. CONSTITUTION:A work 4 is worked by using a flexible bending die under the tension applied to the work 4 in an arrow direction. The work 4 is bent via an auxiliary belt 2 without contacting directly with multiheads 1 in this stage. The bending stress to be generated by the bending moment which the work 4 receives locally at contact points is shared by the belt 2 within the elastic range thereof and therefore buckling is obviated. |
