PURPOSE:To prevent tool wastage and to enhance its operating efficiency by using a sintered hard alloy for the rugged surface of a tool base metal and coating its surface to the prescribed thickness by a hard coating layer of Ti-carbide, etc. in a tool used for drawing and forming a shape tube. CONSTITUTION:In a drawing and forming tool such as a die or a plug used for forming a rugged part at least in one side of the inner and outer surfaces of a tube; a sintered hard alloy (WC+Co, etc.) is used for forming the layer having rugged surface of a tool base material. Further, the surface of the sintered hard alloy is coated to 3-20mu thickness by a single or composite layer consisting of a carbide, a nitride, and a carbide and nitride of Ti, Zr, Hf, and Cr, or an oxide and an oxide and nitride of alumina. Thus, the quality of a shape tube is stabilized by drawing the shape tube with the aid of this tool. |
