摘要 In order to achieve problem-free starting in a spark ignition engine at all temperatures, the choke valve in the carburettor is adjusted by a heated bimetal spiral when starting. The differing thermal capacities of engine and bimetal spiral have hitherto resulted in a high fuel consumption, especially in stop and go driving. By using an electronics system, which monitors the idling speed, an eccentric disc, which acts on the lever of the main throttle, a servo motor and a limit sensor, the idling speed is controlled by turning the choke valve and main throttle. In so doing the rotary position of the choke valve predetermined by the bimetal spring is influenced only in an opening direction, not in a closing direction. A driving lever, which is rigidly connected to the choke valve shaft, and the limit sensor, which is fixed on the eccentric disc and is actuated by the driving lever, mean that in the starting process precisely that choke valve position is set which the engine manufacturer has determined as the optimum value for the engine type.
