The surround for windows, doors or the like, in the case of a curtain-type facade, consists of a case (1), completely prefabricated in the manner of a frame, with side parts (2, 3), an upper part and a windowsill-covering part. The dimensions of the parts correspond in height, width and depth to those of the window, the door or other wall opening of the curtain-type facade. The upper part of the case (1) has, behind a surface parallel to the facade, a ventilation strip (14) which runs perpendicularly thereto and which serves for ventilation and aeration of the space between masonry and curtain-type facade. <IMAGE>
