<p>PURPOSE:To enable sampling of an unrolled billet from the optional position of the billet by opening successively the respective rolling rolls of a rolling mill train coupled directly to a continuous casting device, setting successively the same in rolling-down positions and cutting the unrolled billet with a cutter. CONSTITUTION:The desired position of a billet which is drawn by drawing pinch rolls 11 and is treated with a cooler 12, a soaking device 13, etc. in a process for producing a product of a production line consisting of coupling directly a continuous casting device provided with a rotary caster 10, etc. and a rolling mill train provided with rolling rolls 3'-6' is detected with a detector 2 for the end of the billet and a length measuring device 1. Screw-down devices 3-6 of the respective rolling mills are controlled by a control device 8 to open successively the rolls 3'-6' and to return successively the same to rolling-down positions thereby forming an unrolled part to the billet 9.
