The invention relates to a heat-absorbing filter made from glass for high thermal loading. It is applied in conjunction with optical equipment, in particular in the case of projectors, in which the thermal radiation of a radiation source is filtered out by means of filters in order to protect the system against thermal and mechanical destruction. The filters are highly loaded thermally by the absorbing radiation. The limit of destruction is extended due to the fact that the filter is constructed as a curved parallel plate whose convex side faces the light source.
