In order to simplify the installation of a brush supporting plate of an electric motor, it is intended to provide a retaining tongue on the tube for an axially displaceable brush, or on the brush supporting plate itself, the latching tab of which retaining tongue engages in one installed position in a depression in the brush, and then holds said brush at a distance from the commutator.
