PURPOSE:To increase short-circuit currents contributing to the augmentation of the efficiency of photoelectric conversion by forming a transparent electrode consisting of a transparent conductive film, the surface thereof is composed of specific mean grain size, on the optical incident side and forming a back electrode by a transparent conductive film. CONSTITUTION:A first transparent conductive film 2 is applied and formed on a light-transmitting substrate 1 on the optical incident side, and formed to an irregular surface, the mean grain size of the surface thereof extends over 0.1- 0.9mum. A semiconductor layer 3 consisting of an amorphous Si semiconductor layer and a transparent electrode film 4 as a back electrode are applied and shaped to the film 2 in succession. According to the constitution, and optical path in the layer 3 is lengthened because beams projected through the substrate 1 are refracted irregularly on the irregular surface of the film 2, and energy can be absorbed sufficiently to the layer 3. Since beams are projected to the film 4 having a small refractive index from the layer 3 having a large refractive index, the critical angle of reflection is large, and the high effect of reflection is obtained in the film 4. Consequently, short-circuit currents larger than a solar cell using silver, etc. as the back electrode are acquired. |
