PURPOSE:To use small number of buffers to transfer received data to a main storage without loss, by dividing a receiving buffer group to buffers for a maximum receiver data length and buffers for a shorter received data length and prescribing use methods of them. CONSTITUTION:A data block having a long data length is stored in a long-data length buffer 181 or 182 of a receiving buffer 18 from a data transmission line 2 and is transferred to the main storage simultaneously with completion of reception. When shorter data blocks are received thereafter, these data block are stored temporarily in the idle buffer 182 of the long receiving buffer group, and a data processing device 12 detects that these received data blocks are shorter simultaneously with completion of reception of these data blocks. Data blocks are copied from the buffer 182 to buffers 184-186 of another buffer group successively, and copied data blocks are transferred to the main storage successively at the next timing time. |
