Hitherto known guideway scrapers on machines and equipment, which are preferably made of plastic, use a wedge-shaped lip to scrape the guideways clean of dust, dirt and chips. Because the lip wears, the scraping effect diminishes with time. In addition, the scraping effect occurs only in one direction of the backwards and forwards movement. The subject-matter of the invention employs flexible plastic blades which are matched to the profile of the guideway and, in the course of the backwards and forwards movement, brush the guideway in the manner of a paint brush or windscreen wiper. The advantage consists in that both edges of each blade are used for scraping and bend over elastically counter to the direction of movement, reducing wear. The guideway is cleaned in both directions of movement, that is to say during the outward and the return motion. |
