The device is substantially comprised of a mask (20) that is placd on the face of the patient and of an insulating container (26) wherein may be introduced a heat accumulation medium such as hot water which may be enriched by drugs and/or an infusion of herbs. Due to the insulation effect of the container (26), a treatment by means of inhalation may be pursued during long periods of time, without requiring energy from the outside. This makes the device independent from any electric current source. Furthermore, it is easy to handle since the insulation effect prevents any outer heating of the insulating container (26).
