PURPOSE:To perform optimum control over the inflow of muddy water and the operation of a scraping machine, to increase the ability in processing of an air floating type solid-liquid separator and to save the labor by detecting the thickness of a scum layer frequently at any time. CONSTITUTION:When a wire 8 is lowered to detect the upper level of the scum layer 4 by a liquid-level detector 9, its detection signal is supplied to a microcomputer 14 and a winder 7 is stopped by a controller 15 to store the RAM of the microcomputer 14 with the signal of the current height (a) detected by an interface detector 10 through a counter 12. Then the winder 7 is reversed to elevate the wire 8, and when the detector 10 detects the lower level of the scum layer 4, the winder 7 is stopped with its detection signal to store the signal of the height (b) detected by the detector 10 in the RAM. The microcomputer 14 calculates the layer thickness (c) on the basis of those height signals, and the winder 7 rotates forward and backward in short cycles repeatedly under the control of the microcomputer to measure the layer thickness (c) frequently. |
