PURPOSE:To form easily a non-reciprocal polarizing prism having a polarized light separating function and a non-reciprocal function by providing a film having polarized light separating function between >=2 pieces of prisms each consisting of a magnetooptic material as well as on a light incident surface and light exit surface. CONSTITUTION:Only the S wave of the incident light L1 from the 1st port P1 is transmitted by an org. filter 4, is reflected by a dielectric multi-layered film 2 and is directed to the 2nd port P2. The direction of polarization in this stage is rotated 45 deg. and is transmitted through the filter 4 as an exit light L2. On the other hand, only the light rotated 45 deg. from the S wave of the incident light L3 from the port P2 passes through the filter 4 by which said light is rotated 45 deg. and is transmitted as P wave through the film 2. Said light is further rotated 45 deg. and is transmitted as an exit light L4 through the filter 4. Only the light rotated 45 deg. from the P wave of the incident light L5 from a port P3 is transmitted through the filter 4 by which said light is rotated 45 deg. and is reflected as the S wave by the film 2. Said light is made into the exit light L6 of a port P4. The prism having the polarized light separating function and non-reciprocal function is thus obtd. |
