<p>High softening point, i.e. greater than 140 DEG C, aromatic resins are prepared by polymerizing with an AlCl3 catalyst a solution of p-methylstyrene in a non-reactive diluent such as toluene and thereafter recovering an aromatic polymer, poly(p-methylstyrene), having a softening point of 135 DEG C to 160 DEG C.</p> |
