An apparatus for reproducing a recording medium of a disc-shape on which an audio information is recorded as a spiral or coaxial tracks is disclosed. The apparatus includes a pick-up device for reproducing the audio information from the recording medium, a driver for rotating the recording medium relative to the pick-up device, a tracking device for causing the pick-up device to trace the track of the recording medium, and a transporting device for moving the pick-up device in a direction across the track. In this case, the apparatus is characterized by a controller for controlling the pick-up device so as to trace the tracks intermittently which are apart from each other by a predetermined number of tracks so as to reproduce the audio information intermittently. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of the Invention The present invention relates generally to an apparatus for reproducing a recording medium such as a disc and is directed more particularly to a digital audio disc player to reproduce a digital audio disc. Description of the Prior Art A manner to reproduce or playback a digital audio disc (hereinbelow simply referred to as DAD) which is called as a compact disc will be now described with reference to Fig. 1.
