A gas recovery unit includes a spherical pressure accumulating drum into which liquid and gas are introduced via a bottom inlet cylinder. The liquid is recirculated from the bottom of the drum through a pump, while the gas rises to the top of the drum for discharge through a top gas outlet when the pressure in the tank has risen sufficiently to effect such discharge. The recirculated liquid passes through a venturi, which is connected to a gas inlet duct for drawing gas into the liquid.
