PURPOSE:To obtain a thin plate battery having an excellent long-period preservation performance by using titanium foil as current collectors also serving as enclosing members. CONSTITUTION:The inner surface of a titanium foil 5 is coated with a positive mixture 4. The positive mixture 4 is formed by applying a slurry consisting of carbon black and electrolyte solution to the inner surface of the titanium foil 5 before performing drying. A liquid-holding material 3 is made of a member such as a nonwoven acrylic fabric. The peripheral area of the liquid-holding material 3 is impregnated with a hot melt resin. A negative mixture 2 is formed by applying a slurry consisting of (e.g.,) zinc powder and electrolyte solution to the inner surface of a titanium foil 5 before performing drying. The battery is sealed by heat sealing while applying pressure after the peripheries of the titanium foils 5 and the liquid-holding material 3 are placed one upon another. |
