PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic head with which both a track position shift and a read/write action error are reduced by attaching a gimbal spring into a groove formed on a contact surface between a slider assembly and a medium. CONSTITUTION:A gimbal spring 11 is attached into a groove 15 formed on the contact surface between a slider assembly 12 and a medium 16 through adhesion at a rectangular part 14. When the medium 16 has a warp and the assembly 12 has a tilt, a distance L' (equal to the depth of the groove 15) between the revolving center B' of the assembly 12 and the slider surface is reduced down to about 1/10 compared to a distance L in the case where no groove 15 is provided. At the same time, the shift distance l' of the track position is also reduced down to about 1/10. Thus both the track position shift and the read/write action error are reduced with a magnetic head. |
