PURPOSE:To reduce a space necessary for the movement of a recording head, by supporting a recording head in a state movable along the almost normal line direction with respect to the contact point with a platen. CONSTITUTION:A head unit 35 is attached to a frame 37 through support means 39, 39 and made movable along the almost normal line direction with respect to the contact point with a platen 10. When a ribbon cassette 14 is mounted, the head unit 35 is brought to a state displaced to a direction separated from the platen 10 and the ribbon cassette 14 is pushed in along the longitudinal direction thereof to allow the opening part to oppose to the end surface of the head unit 35. Subsequently, the head unit 35 may be returned to the side of the platen 10 to be inlaid with the opening part of the ribbon cassette 14. |
