<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled molded item efficiently and inexpensively that is suitable as a floor mat or the like for an automobile, by treating the surface of a vulcanized rubber molded item to make the surface activated, and molding a pattern or the like of a thermoplastic resin or the like by heating, pressing and welding. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a vulcanized rubber molded item is treated with a chemically reactive surface treating agent that will react with double bonds in the rubber to make the vulcanized rubber surface polarized and activated. A mark, character, pattern or the like of a thermoplastic synthetic resin or thermoplastic rubber is molded on the surface by heating, pressing and welding to produce the intended molded item. It is preferable to effect the molding by using a mold for molding a pattern, the periphery of the patterned and projected section of the mold being provided with a ridge for cutting off a thermoplastic synthetic sheet or thermoplastic rubber sheet into the form of a mark, character, pattern or the like.</p> |
