PURPOSE:To obtain a picture free from disturbance by applying preexposure of transfer with the quantity of exposure preventing the potential of a dark part after the preexposure of transfer from being reduced less than the potential of a light part after the preexposure of transfer. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive surface 9 carrying an appearance image after development is developed by a lamp 13 which is transfer prelighting means and then exposed uniformly in a transfer preexposing position. Consequently, the surface potential of the photosensitive surface 9 is reduced at the light part to which coner T is adhered and also at the dark part to which the toner T is not adhered. The exposure of the photosensitive surface 9 by the lamp 13 is set up so that the surface potential VD' of the dark part area after the exposure by the lamp 13 is not reduced less than the surface potential VL' of the light part area exposed through the surface toner layer. Thus, the toner image can be prevented from dispersion and the latitude of a separation destaticizer 16 is expanded in a device for executing electrostatic separation. |
