PURPOSE:To prevent an inverted developing image from disturbance and to attain clear separation of the image by selecting voltage to be impressed to a lamp through a changeover switch in the 1st mode selecting voltage to the lamp through the changeover switch to execute normalized development and the 2nd mode executing inversion development, and changing the quantity of exposure at the preexposure for transfer. CONSTITUTION:The quantity of exposure by the lamp 6 at the preexposure for transfer can be changed in the 1st mode and 2nd mode. In the 1st mode, voltage from a transformer 6'' outputting relatively high voltage is impressed to the lamp 6 through the changeover switch S6 and the lamp 6 exposes a photosensitive body 2 with relatively high luminance. In the 2nd mode, voltage from a transformer 6'<3> outputting relatively low voltage is impressed to the lamp 6 through the changeover switch S6 and the lamp 6 exposes the photosensitive body 2 with relatively low luminance. After irradiation of light, the potential between a dark part and a light part is increased, so that electrostatic separation is efficiently performed and a clear picture free from blur around characters is obtained. |
