A flat platen-type cutting and creasing press for sheet material 9 includes a continuously moving closed loop conveyor means 30 that carries sheet gripping means 25 in a feed direction (right to left in Fig. 1) along a generally horizontal feed path extending through a sheet loading station, a sheet unloading station, and a cutting station having die means 87 (Fig. 2) positioned thereat with the cutting station being positioned between the sheet loading and unloading stations. Eccentric shaft means 64-67 rotating at uniform speed drives platens 35, 36 carrying the die means 87 along a rotary path positioned for the die means 87 to operatively engage and thereby fully cut a sheet 19 moving along the feed path through said cutting station. Rotating counterbalancing weights 99 on the eccentric shaft means 64-67 are disposed between points 76, 79 on the platens 35, 36 that are connected to the eccentric shaft means 73, 80, 82, 83. <IMAGE> |
