PURPOSE:To prevent an ink cartridge from being damaged by vibrations, shocks or the like, by a method wherein a shock absorber intermediately provided between a casing and an ink container is used also as a waste ink reservoir, and the ink container and the waste ink reservoir are contained as one body in the casing. CONSTITUTION:The casing 2 of the cartridge 1 is stiff, and a flexible flat bag form ink container 3 and the shock absorber 4 for occupying the space between the container 3 and the casing 2 to hold the container 3 in a vibration-proof condition are contained in the interior of the casing 2. An ink leading-out end of the container 3 is sealed by a connector 5 consisting of a blind rubber stopper fixed to an opening part of the casing 2. The shock absorber 4 is formed as one body from an open-cellular material such as polyurethane in such a shape as to have a recessed part surrounding the container 3 without pressing it. The shock absorber 4 intermediately provided in the space between the container 3 and the casing 2 is chatterlessly supported by the inside surface of the casing 2, and holds the container 3 in a vibration-proof condition. |
