PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect leakage of radiation readily, by providing a detecting optical fiber, having property by which spectral characteristics of optical transmission loss are changed by the irradiation of the radiation, and providing a light emitting device, which emits a light signal to the detecting optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:Leakage detectors 6a and 6b, which detect the leakage of an instrumentation piping 1, are arranged in the instrumentation piping 1. An optical fiber 8, which is connected into a central control chamber 7, is connected to the leakage detectors 6a and 6b. A control part 13, which is arranged in the central control chamber 7, has a light emitting device 14. The light emitted from the light emitting device 14 is inputted to a detecting optical fiber 11 through an optical fiber 9a and further inputted to a photoelectric converter 15, which converts the light signal into an electric signal, through an optical fiber 9b. By this leakage detecting device, the leakage of the radiation can be detected readily and positively. |
