PURPOSE:To obtain a controlling system that avoids step difference of down coiler surely by providing laser emitters and receivers close to pinch rolls and detecting timing of passing of the tip of a strip. CONSTITUTION:Plural pairs of emitters 15 and receivers 16 of laser light are provided between upper and lower pinch rolls 13, 14 and a mandrel 2. When the tip of a strip passes between the emitters 15 and receivers 16, signals from receivers 16 are inputted to a controlling board 12', and escape of a wrapper roller 3 and timing of pressing action are calculated. Just before the stepped part of the strip 1 passes the wrapper roll 3 after the strip 1 passes the mandrel 2 and wrapper roll 3 to form the first coil and enters the second coil, the controlling board 12' switches a servo valve 9, and the wrapper roll 3 is kept away from the stepped part by the action of a cylinder 8. When the stepped part passed, the wrapper roll 3 in thrusted against the strip 1. By repeating this process, collision of the wrapper roll 3 and strip 1 can be avoided. |
