The invention relates to a device for electro-slag refining in which a carriage 2 can be moved along a bearing column 1. The carriage 2 is fixed to a cross-beam 6 with supporting bracket arms 14, which are provided in order to support the mould 5. Above the mould 5 is a gas intake chamber 12, and the cross-beam 6 and the supporting bracket arms 14 are hollow. The inside cavity of the cross-beam 6 is divided into two compartments, both of which are connected to the gas intake chamber 12, together with a gas aspiration system and, via rotatable dampers, with the respective cavities in the supporting bracket arms 14. The side walls of the latter are fitted with grooves 17 through which the gases can be aspirated from the surface of an ingot 19. <IMAGE> |
