摘要

PURPOSE:To produce a novel physiologically active substance SPF-1 extremely hopeful as an antitumor substance, by culturing a microbial strain belonging to Streptomyces genus. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain belonging to Streptomyces genus and capable of producing physiologically active substance SPF-1, e.g. Streptomyces pyogenes ATCC21060, is cultured in a medium added with penicillin or its relating substance such as penicillin G at a proper stage during the cultivation, and the objective physiologically active substance SPF-1 is separated from the culture liquid.
