PURPOSE:To enable air-fuel mixture concentration to be kept within a combustible excess concentration range due to dispersion of fuel gas during ignition and to enable smooth ignition of air-fuel mixture, by a method wherein an ignitor is positioned oppositely to the inlet side of the air for combustion within a mixing range in a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:When the operation is started, a starting fan is driven, and the air for combustion is fed through a suction port body 5 into an air chamber 4. Simultaneously, fuel gas is fed through a gas port body 7 into a gas chamber 6, and the air for combustion forcibly opens an air flap valve 14 through air passages 9 and is injected into a combustion chamber 16 through air injection nozzles 13. Fuel gas forcibly opens a gas flap valve 11 through gas passages 8 and is injected into the combustion chamber 16 through the gas nozzles 13. When the combustion chamber 16 is full of mixture of the air for combustion and fuel gas, an ignition plug 18 is ignited. As noted, since the ignition plug is located in a position where there is a sufficient amount of the air and which forms air- fuel mixture concentration within an ideal excess concentration range resulting from dispersion of fuel gas, and thereby smooth ignition may be performed. |
